The movie The Shawshank Redemption showed the cruel life in prisons, but in São Paulo, Brazil, 900 prisoners of several prisons can plan a better life, releasing their sensitivity through a work of design in paper, a different and unique experience worldwide
The work consists in assembling tridimensional cards, using the logo of the company/customer, for special events such as: launching of a product, calendars, year-end messages, anniversary of a company or its employees'birthday... The cards are hand made, using the insertion technique with no use of cuts and glue. In order to make the cards, the prisoners receive a special training. For the prisoners, there are many advantages to work with cards:
1)For every three days of work there is a reduction of one day of their punishment.
2) They earn a certain amount of money for every thousand of cards produced.
3) When they leave the prison they are able to establish a small business in their communities, thus becoming a trainer in the local community.
